Order and Description of Services

Lord’s Day:

10:00 am Lord’s Supper (Breaking of Bread)

Following the teachings of the Lord and the examples of the early Christians, we meet on the first day of every week remember the Lord Jesus and His death for us. The first hour of the meeting is for worship and congregational singing.  Without pre-arrangement the meeting is open for men in the fellowship to stand and audibly lead in worship and thanksgiving to God for His Son. This is followed by all in the fellowship taking “the bread and cup” as the Lord Jesus himself requested “Do this in remembrance of Me” when he instituted this practice in Luke 22:19-20. The meeting concludes with one man sharing a message from the Bible

Following this a lunch is served in the basement of the Gospel Hall and all are welcome to stay.

12:30 pm Sunday School / Bible Study

The Sunday School & Bible Study commences with young & old singing children’s hymns. After this the children are divided into classes where their teachers teach them lessons from the Bible.

The rest of the people attend a Bible Study, which is opened by an overview of the chapter being considered followed by a detailed discussion.

7:00 pm Gospel Service

The gospel we preach is that “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) The gospel meeting is opened with congregational singing and prayer.  Two pre-arranged speakers then share the meeting. They read one or more Bible texts before presenting the clear message about God’s way of salvation.

In this meeting we emphasize the Bible’s call to repent from sin and personally accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.  Since this is an individual matter, no “altar calls” are ever held; personal conversation, however, is always available if desired.

Monday:

7:00 pm Monday School (Mar-May & Sept-Dec)

This is a fun time for children of all ages to learn from the Bible. During this hour the children:

·        Sing children’s hymns

·        Learn memory Bible verses

·        Have a quiz & play a game based on the previous week’s lesson

·        Listen to a lesson based on a Bible story

By participating in these activities the children earn points to purchase many different prizes.

Wednesday:

7:30 pm Prayer and Bible Study

The meeting is divided into two sections; the first for prayer and the latter for systematic Bible study. The Bible study is opened by an overview of the chapter being considered followed by a detailed discussion. The purpose of the Bible study is to learn the truths of the Word of God and to gain instruction from it that will help us in our daily lives.
