Who are we?

We are a group of Christians who have been meeting together as a local assembly in Clementsvale since 1944 for worship,

prayer and Bible study. We are also active in series of Gospel Meetings and Sunday School work. We place great value on

family principles. Since the future of children is vitally important to us we strive to supply relevant moral training and

spiritual guidance for young people.

You and your family are cordially invited to attend our services. They are conducted in an orderly fashion with reverence for God.

No public collections or appeals for funds are ever made. We place great value on how one can find eternal life and lasting peace

through faith in Christ. It is also most important to us that our practices and beliefs are all based on the Bible.

Matthew 18:20 and Acts 2:41-42 form the foundation for our gatherings.

Location: We are located at 295 Quarry Rd, at the corner of Quarry Rd and Clementsvale Rd.

Where is our head office?

We do not have such a location on earth! We are solely responsible to our Risen and Glorified Head, the Lord Jesus Christ.

(Acts 20:28) However, we do enjoy fellowship with other believers from other assemblies in the same manner around the world.

(1 Corinthians 1:2)

Who is our minister? We do not have a paid pastor, or minister. There are elders or overseers that seek to shepherd the

saints, and different ones that share the responsibility of preaching the gospel on Sunday nights. (Acts 20:17, 28)

No Collection? People attending the services in the gospel hall are surprised when no collection is taken. The expenses

incurred are fully met by the Christians who regularly meet at the gospel hall. You can come and hear the Gospel of the

grace of God preached freely, without a moral obligation to join, or a financial obligation

to contribute! (1 Corinthians 9:18)

Some Basic Doctrines of The Bible

The Holy Scriptures are verbally inspired and are of divine authority. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Lord Jesus is the only begotten and eternal Son of God, miraculously born of the virgin Mary, and the only one whose

life was absolutely sinless and who could not sin. (John 1:1; Matthew 1:18, 23; 1 John 3:5)

Man is ruined by the fall of Adam and is a sinner by nature (Romans 3:23). It is impossible for him to be saved by his own

works or religious observances, and he must be “born again” before he can enter Heaven. (John 3:3; 1 Peter 1:23)

The Lord Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s cross, shed His blood for the remission of sins, was buried and rose again the

third day, and is today living at God’s right hand in Heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:17-20; Romans 4:25; Acts 2:32)

All those who accept Christ as their Saviour are eternally saved. When they die they will be with him in Heaven.

Hell is the eternal abode of the lost. (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23; John 3:36; Luke 16:23; John 10:28.)

The Lord Jesus is coming again to take those who have accepted Him as their own personal Saviour, and to raise the

dead in Christ. Later He will return to establish his kingdom upon the earth. (John 14:3; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54;

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:4)

All those who are saved should be baptized by immersion, and continue steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine, and in

fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers.(Acts 2:41-42)

Order and Description of Services

Lord’s Day:

10:00 am Lord’s Supper (Breaking of Bread)

Following the teachings of the Lord and the examples of the early Christians, we meet on the first day of every week

remember the Lord Jesus and His death for us. The first hour of the meeting is for worship and congregational singing.

Without pre-arrangement the meeting is open for men in the fellowship to stand and audibly lead in worship and thanksgiving

to God for His Son. This is followed by all in the fellowship taking “the bread and cup” as the Lord Jesus himself requested

“Do this in remembrance of Me” when he instituted this practice in Luke 22:19-20. The meeting concludes with one man

sharing a message from the Bible

Following this a lunch is served in the basement of the Gospel Hall and all are welcome to stay.

12:30 pm Sunday School / Bible Study

The Sunday School & Bible Study commences with young & old singing children’s hymns. After this the children

are divided into classes where their teachers teach them lessons from the Bible.

The rest of the people attend a Bible Study, which is opened by an overview of the chapter being considered followed

by a detailed discussion. This Bible Study usually focuses on lessons we can learn from the life of Christ as shown in the four

gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.)

7:00 pm Gospel Service

The gospel we preach is that “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he

rose again the third day.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) The gospel meeting is opened with congregational singing and prayer.

Two pre-arranged speakers then share the meeting. They read one or more Bible texts before presenting the clear message

about God’s way of salvation.

In this meeting we emphasize the Bible’s call to repent from sin and personally accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

Since this is an individual matter, no “altar calls” are ever held; personal conversation, however, is always available if desired.

Monday:

7:00 pm Monday School (Mar-May & Sept-Dec)

This is a fun time for children of all ages to learn from the Bible. During this hour the children:

·        Sing children’s hymns

·        Learn memory Bible verses

·        Have a quiz & play a game based on the previous week’s lesson

·        Listen to a lesson based on a Bible story

By participating in these activities the children earn points to purchase many different prizes.

Wednesday:

7:30 pm Prayer and Bible Study

The meeting is divided into two sections; the first for prayer and the latter for systematic Bible study. The Bible study

is opened by an overview of the chapter being considered followed by a detailed discussion. The purpose of the Bible study is

to learn the truths of the Word of God and to gain instruction from it that will help us in our daily lives.
